MMEA 2018 Fall Workshop Letter Yoder-White

Sing, Move, Create, Play:  Making Music the Orff Way

Maribeth Yoder-White, Clinician

A choral and general music education specialist, she previously taught fulltime at ASU, where she served as Coordinator of Music Education. Prior to joining the ASU faculty, Yoder-White taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Music, where she conducted the Women’s Glee Club, taught graduate and undergraduate music education courses, and supervised student teachers.

Yoder-White received a Bachelor of Music Education degree in choral/general music from Lenoir-Rhyne College, graduating summa cum laude. Following completion of a Master of Music degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Yoder-White taught middle school choral and general music in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools before returning to UNCG to complete doctoral studies.

Yoder-White also serves as Program Director for ArtsNOW, a non-profit organization in Atlanta committed to improving education by equipping teachers with professional development and resources to bring creativity and the arts into daily classroom instruction. An arts integration specialist, Yoder-White delivers teacher workshops, teaches demonstration lessons, advises arts-integrated lesson design, and creates resources to facilitate implementation of authentic arts integration instruction.
